Pixel 7 refined the Tensor-era formula with Google Tensor G2 and a more settled camera-bar identity. The regular and Pro versions are best understood through their camera choices and size, rather than simply treating Pro as an automatic upgrade for everyone.

Why the Pro camera changes the comparison
A dedicated telephoto camera is valuable when framing a subject you cannot approach, but it does not make a larger handset easier to carry. Pixel 7 also introduced Photo Unblur as part of its software story. Separate camera hardware from editing features when reading a listing: one describes how light is captured, the other what happens to an image afterwards. Pro also brings macro photography into the comparison.
Which version is which?
The main family comprises Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Pixel 7a arrived in May 2023 and is covered in its own guide. A model number in a case listing, a network contract title or a seller’s abbreviated heading is not enough: confirm the actual phone’s identity in Settings before comparing prices.
Looking at one today
Try each rear-camera option, including the Pro’s telephoto view, with a real subject rather than only opening the camera app. Inspect the camera glass and display, test fingerprint and face unlocking where available, and check charging. For a used phone, an honest battery description and a clear returns policy are more useful than a seller repeating a launch-day camera slogan.
