The 2025 foldable family added a separate Flip7 FE alongside Fold7 and Flip7. A larger Fold workspace and a bigger Flip cover display made the differences between formats—and between the two Flip tiers—especially important.

Three names should mean three clear choices

The Fold’s display area is useful when you genuinely need more room for reading or simultaneous tasks. The Flip’s outer screen offers a different benefit: doing selected things while the device stays closed. A lower-cost FE option introduces another comparison, but it should not inherit every Flip7 specification by association. Choose the physical format first, then compare the exact camera, display and accessory details of the model within that format.

Which version is which?

Fold7 is the book-style device. Flip7 is the main clamshell and Flip7 FE is its separately specified alternative. Samsung announced the family in July 2025. Do not assume older Fold pen compatibility or case fit automatically carries forward; verify the exact model’s official specifications. The FE suffix is essential when comparing a retailer’s offer with a review or buying an accessory.

Looking at one today

Test the outer display with tasks you perform often, then open the phone and check the inner screen, hinge and touch response. Inspect camera covers and try different views. Ask about repairs and compare warranties that explicitly address folding-screen issues. A thinner closed profile can feel appealing, but a used example still needs a careful mechanical inspection and a realistic repair budget.
