The S10 generation widened the main Galaxy S family to four distinct choices. A compact flat-screen option, larger models and a separate 5G version made the complete name more important than ever.

One generation, several different priorities

The S10e is a useful reminder that a smaller phone can be a deliberate choice rather than an incomplete flagship. The S10 5G is another example: it is a separate model, not a software switch added to any S10. Wireless PowerShare introduced another way to use the phone’s battery, but charging another device has to be balanced against keeping enough power for your own day. Compare the actual features you need rather than the longest model name.

Which version is which?

S10e is the compact flat-screen member. S10 and S10+ are the conventional premium sizes, while S10 5G has its own body and hardware. S10 Lite arrived separately in January 2020; Samsung’s Lite announcement explains its different position. Do not assume cases or replacement screens fit across these names.

Looking at one today

Confirm the exact model in Settings, then test every rear camera and the appropriate fingerprint reader. Inspect the display cut-out area, screen edges and charging port. For a 5G import, confirm support on your intended network rather than trusting a generic 5G badge. Battery condition and repair history should be compared on equal terms before deciding that one version is the better deal.
